Joseph Rosales in Honduras during his work in education and cultural exchangeHONDURAS · COMMUNITY

Joseph Rosales is a Honduran-American educator and Fulbright scholar whose work sits at the intersection of education, culture and opportunity.

A graduate of Florida International University in International Business, Joseph built his connection to Honduras long before returning through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.

At FIU, he founded the Honduras Club at FIU, creating a community centered on Honduran culture, leadership, service and connection.

His path later brought him to the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, and eventually back to Honduras as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant.

2019

A deeper connection to Honduras

Joseph strengthened his connection to Honduras and continued developing an interest in the history, culture and people of the country where his family has roots.

2024

U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa

As a student, Joseph worked in the public relations section of the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, gaining firsthand experience around international communication and U.S.–Honduras relations.

2025

Graduating from FIU

Joseph graduated from Florida International University in International Business after building a student organization centered on Honduran culture, leadership and community.

2025–2026

Fulbright in Honduras

Joseph returned to Honduras as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, combining education, cultural exchange and service in the country of his family's roots.

Today

Building bridges through education

Through teaching, cultural programming and engagement with young people, Joseph continues working to strengthen understanding and opportunity between Honduras and the United States.

The reason
behind the mission.

Joseph's commitment to education is personal.

His grandmother, Mercedes Aguilar Pineda, was an educator in Honduras. Her influence helped shape Joseph's belief in education, service and helping others.

That legacy continues through the work he now does with students and communities in Honduras.
